Each year, the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council(SBC) and Partners in Education (PIE) provide business-oriented middle and high school students with the opportunity to put their aspirations into practice. Grants for up to $500 are given to those who have a unique, needed by the marketplace business idea and submit the best mini-business plan. Students must write efficient, professional plans, with detailed budgeting, service, and product descriptions, as well as thorough promotional ideas. The Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) makes a selection based on information provided in the mini-business plan. All grant recipients are bright, talented young people with unlimited potential, creativity, willpower, and energy.
Youth Entrepreneur Business Development Grants are mini grants offered to area middle and high school students wanting to start their own business for the summer. Partners in Education offers the financial support, and the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Council coordinates business mentors to work with the students on development of their business plans. Business plan applications are due in May.
